The Wild Walk

Added Jul 27, 2015

Eastern Travel has taken hundreds of trips up and through the Adirondacks over the years.  Many of our fellow travelers have enjoyed themselves at places like Saratoga Race Track, Water Safari in Old Forge, the Olympic Village of Lake Placid, the Adirondack Museum in Blue Mountain and on up to the St. Lawrence Seaway.  Well, now, the High Peaks region brings us a brand new reason to go to the mountains for a visit.  The recently opened Wild Center, in Tupper Lake, is a multi-faceted nature destination with several buildings, exhibit halls and interactive activities for all ages. The brand new Wild Walk is literally a "walk above the treetops."  Built overhead of the tallest trees, this winding walkway give the visitor the rare opportunity to see the mighty Adirondacks from above, rather than from below.  The New York Times described walking on the Wild Walk as akin to traversing the city's High Line.  It is a new and exciting destination in our own backyard.  Go and check it out for yourselves!
